I'll see if i can find a video of the explosions.

I prefer a mixture of both, because i do not like to manually set the course of each torpedo (my brain isn't that advanced ), so i have limited fuel etc, but i just lock onto targets and let the AI figure out the torpedo course. The game can be played in a arcade style, or a realistic style. The 4th game also has a 3D dammage model, where if a torpedo hits a boat it has a 95% chance of putting a huge hole (which is actually a hole in the model, not just some dammage texture) in the ship, which causes it to quickly gain water (as the boat starts to lean to the side or front and back depending what side you hit it). You will not find many games with better explosions. The explosions look as good in motion as they do when stopped. This game is very good, it just needs another patch or two to make it that much better. Sucks, but even abit of dammage to one section will drastically lower the depth you can dive, and you will sink if you dive too much. Though obviously don't dive if you have taken any dammage.

Pass the Thermal Layer, use one of the evasion modes, and set your sub to silent running. So if you have trouble with a destroyer trying to drop depth chargers on you. When you dive (usually past 200m), you will hear one of your crewman say "passing thermal layer", if you hide below the thermal layer, it makes your sub VERY hard for the enemy to pinpoint. Also some AI tweaks which makes the japanese ships harder, and easier to spot you.īTW DarkSwordmaster, i'm not sure if that guide has already said it, but i'll assume it hasn't. (well it was for me anyway).Īnyone downloaded any of those mods? Some pretty cool ones, like new radio stations you can tune into, and some texture replacements. While those pictures are taken ingame, they have had massive amounts of cleaning and tweaking.

That game looks nothing like its previews:
